What Makes Us Different

The InnerVisions Program is not for people who are shopping, or contemplating getting some help. InnerVisions requires a total, unreserved commitment to the goal of living clean and sober. All clients must accept and adhere to all House rules and routines. Failure to adhere to our House rules and policies will result in termination of your residence at InnerVisions. We take the business of getting clean and sober very, very, seriously.

InnerVisions is a safe, structured, organized environment created and operated by people who themselves have overcome their substance abuse issues; all facility staff are in recovery themselves. We openly admit our program is highly structured, and when a person is coming into InnerVisions they need to know we are rigorous to the application of our program standards. We also know that if you have a problem with alcohol and drugs, we have a proven solution: you can RECOVER!

While our facilities are basic in nature, we maintain a high level of hygiene, warmth, and safety. This is not only our opinion, but has been acknowledged by our accrediting and licensing bodies. What makes us complete standouts in Canada is our phenomenal team of talented staff who are equipped with exceptional skill sets; staff speak from their own experience about the despair of addiction as well as the miracle of recovery.

If you are a person whose life has become unmanageable and you need some friendly, definite, clear direction to address the disease of addiction, InnerVisions is the place for you. Along with Substance Abuse Treatment, we have access to credible Transitional Second-Stage Housing, Employment and Training Programs and a Family Re-integration Program. Statistics show that this type of comprehensive program is highly effective for recovery from drug and alcohol addictions.

No one is invited into the InnerVisions program. To become a client a person must:

  • Need our services
  • Want our services
  • Ask to join us
  • Commit to our program
  • Be prepared to be held to their commitment

The InnerVisions program is based on total abstinence from all mood-altering substances.

Our History

In 1988 two drug addicts found a way out of the hell they were separately living. Recovery not only gave both Billy and Kim a second chance at life,  it also lead them to each other. Clean and sober and in love, they dreamed of helping others achieve what they had. Through hard-work and determination, they set out to help addicts find a new way of life by passing on a simple message:

“There is a way out of the loneliness and degradation of addiction. You can overcome the disease of addiction”

Their shared dream lead to InnerVision’s humble beginnings in half of a duplex in Coquitlam, BC. Though it was small at first, Billy and Kim always ensured that it was a safe and nurturing environment where even the most desperate drug addict could find help. Every person that has come through the doors of InnerVisions has been given a chance, so long as they were willing to ask for one.

Their dream is still alive today, and InnerVisions offers a comprehensive, sobriety driven continuum that has helped thousands of people get and stay sober. For over twenty-five years, Billy and Kim have never given up on the belief that miracles do happen, and they are proud of what InnerVisions has become.

InnerVisions has become a nationally respected and recognized non-profit recovery society. Its’ licensed residential treatment program holds the highest accreditation possible.

InnerVisions has been awarded finalist status for excellence in the preventions and treatment of substance abuse by the Donner Foundation. The Donner Foundation recognizes Canadian non-profit organizations every year for exemplifying excellence in the delivery of community-based programs.

Our staff and former clients have appeared on public & network television, radio, print media and speaking events to the public. We have provided training support to several school districts in our community, the RCMP, and a variety of Indigenous groups.

InnerVisions prides itself in its’ in-house training program that allows people that have completed the treatment program to learn to work in a residential treatment facility setting . All of the staff at InnerVisions are trained to provide the highest quality of service. Senior staff are recognized by the Canadian Counsellors Certification Federation, and have varying degrees of therapeutic education. InnerVisions is respected and trusted as a voice for awareness, treatment and prevention of one of the deadliest issues to plague our communities.

Billy and Kim are very proud of the people involved with InnerVisions and the work that is done here. They truly believe in helping to make a difference in the lives of those who need it.
