Prairie House opened in Port Coquitlam, BC as InnerVisions’ second treatment centre. Following the structure already in place at Miller House, Prairie quickly became a well-oiled recovery machine. It has been the flagship of all men’s drug and alcohol treatment at InnerVisions for over a decade.
Past and present clients at Prairie House describe it as a clean and comfortable place where virtues of trust and pride are never overlooked by staff members or clients. Further, they insist that Prairie does not feel like an institution or a facility, but a safe home in a family community.
Prairie is composed of two buildings and contains an industrial kitchen, a house cook, staff offices, a large group therapy room, free weights for working out, open common areas, a TV room, and a large dining room among other amenities. Prairie House is also the location for weekly on-site appointments with addiction specialist doctors.
Prairie House embodies the InnerVisions’ slogan, real people, real recovery, real miracles. If you are serious about addiction treatment and recovery, the people and program at Prairie House and InnerVisions will help you help yourself en route to a clean and sober life.
Miller House opened its doors in 1991 when Billy and Kim managed to scrape together enough money for half a month’s rent. It is the house where the founders of InnerVisions first saw their shared dream to create a safe place for addicts materialize. Miller has always been the foundation of our society and it is where much of the InnerVisions program has been developed. In the summer of 2015, a state of the art facility was built in Maple Ridge and the program that originated in Coquitlam was moved there in order for “Miller House” to continue to be a sanctuary for men during their recovery.
Having been through the InnerVisions program themselves, the outstanding staff at Miller House recognize what a person needs and how a person feels when he arrives at the house to begin his treatment.
Upon entrance you will find an industrial kitchen, a house cook, staff offices, a large group therapy room, open common areas, and a large dining room among other amenities.
First and foremost, Miller House is home. It is where the fundamentals of the program have been tried and tested.
